“The AERONET (AErosol RObotic NETwork) program is an inclusive federation of ground-based remote sensing aerosol networks established by AERONET and PHOTONS and greatly expanded by AEROCAN and other agency, institute, and university partners.” - NASA GSFC.

 

This Add-on displays NASA Goddard’s Aeronet Sites around the world, with clickable icons which open a related web page, from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, in your web browser.
 

Description

Each icon has a clickable link and mouse-over information (figure-1).

Installation

To install the Add-on click the following link WorldWind_1.3_Aeronet_1.0.exe and select save in your web browser. Once the download is complete double-click the icon (figure-2) on your desktop, or if you chose a different location to save the file navigate there, follow the on-screen prompts and when installation is complete run World Wind.

Next open the Layer Manager by clicking on the icon (figure-3) in World Wind’s toolbar.

Once the Layer Manager is open you will see several entries, click in the square next to the one which says Aeronet Sites Worldwide, this will tick the box and turn on the layer (figure-4).
